Israeli Soldiers Kidnap 15 Palestinians In West Bank, Demolish Home

IMEMC, 2/27/14 – Israeli soldiers invaded various Palestinian communities, in different parts of the occupied West Bank, kidnapping 15 Palestinians, including a 9-year old child and a mentally challenged Palestinian. Soldiers also demolished a Palestinian home near Ramallah, after firing shells at it.

Palestinian sources in Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, have reported that the soldiers kidnapped Mohammad Rashed Az-Zaro, 13, Fayez Haitham Az-Zaro, 9 years of age, and a mentally challenged Palestinian identified as Ahmad ‘Aady Al-Eslooty, 19.

Soldiers also invaded Yatta town, south of Hebron, and Taffouh town, west of the city, broke into a number of houses, and violently searched them causing excessive property damage.

The army also installed a roadblock at the entrance of the al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of Hebron, stopped and searched dozens of Palestinian cars, inspecting the ID cards of the residents while interrogating them.

In Bethlehem, soldiers kidnapped Sharif Mahmoud Fannoun, 21, after stopping him at a roadblock near the Beitar Illit illegal settlement.

He was heading back home from work, and was moved to an unknown destination.

Dozens of soldiers also invaded Ya’bad town, near the northern West Bank city of Jenin, and kidnapped three Palestinians after the soldiers violently searched their homes and ransacked their property.

The three have been identified as Ahmad Taleb Abu Bakr, 22, Khaled Walid Atatra, 21, and Mahmoud Issam Sheikh-Ali, 26.

Furthermore, soldiers invaded the Zibda nearby village, and handed two residents military orders to stop the construction of their homes, located in Area C of the occupied West Bank, which is under Israeli military and civil control.

Furthermore, soldiers invaded Aqbat as-Saraya area, in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, broke into and searched one home, kidnapping a local medic identified as Wissam Hammouda, 35.

His brother Dia’ said that soldiers forced Wissam to remove his clothes, and kidnapped him before taking him to the al-Qashla police station.

Also on Thursday, soldiers invaded Burin and Osreen villages, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and kidnapped two Palestinians.

The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) has reported that the army kidnapped Mohammad Mashoor Najjar, 21, from Burin village, after searching his home.

It added that the soldiers also invaded Osreen village, south of the city, and detained thirteen Palestinians before taking them to the Za’tara roadblock, forcing them into the cold for several hours.

The army released twelve of the detained Palestinians, and kidnapped Ayham Saleh Odeily, 17.

Furthermore, the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements in Nabi Saleh village, near Ramallah, has reported that the soldiers invaded the village, during the early dawn hours, and kidnapped Fadel Tamimi, 50, after searching his home.

The invasion led to clashes between the invading soldiers and local youth; dozens of Palestinians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

In addition, soldiers invaded Birzeit town, north of Ramallah, demolishing one home and kidnapping two Palestinians.

Local sources said that the army demolished the home of Fadi Washha, kidnapping him and rendering the family homeless.

Palestinian TV has reported that the soldiers surrounded the home at approximately at 3:30 AM, and fired shells at it, causing significant destruction to the property before invading it and forcing the family out.

The army said a “wanted Palestinian” was hiding in the property.

Clashes took place between the invading soldiers and local Palestinians before the soldiers kidnapped another resident, identified as Samer al-Qaisy.

Eyewitnesses said four armored military vehicles, and a military troop carrier, invaded the center of the town before local youth hurled stones and empty bottles at them. Soldiers fired gas bombs, concussion grenades, and rubber-coated metal bullets.

Furthermore, dozens of soldiers invaded Marda village, near the Central West Bank city of Salfit, searched several homes and kidnapped two Palestinians.

The two have been identified as Mohammad Imad Dyouk, 19, and Ala’ Abdul-Fattah Sa’id, 19.

The army also invaded Kufr Ed-Deek village, kidnapping one Palestinian, identified as Wissam Suleiman ad-Deek, from the center of the town.
